AS Monaco: Sadibou Sané’s agent reveals the inside story of the transfer

Souleymane Ba, Sadibou Sané’s agent, has told Maghreb-Foot the inside story of the Senegalese centre-back’s transfer from Metz to AS Monaco, for a fee estimated at €7 million.

The deal was done in the summer, but the inside story was missing. It was Souleymane Ba, Sadibou Sané’s agent, who provided it in an interview with Maghreb-Foot, relayed by AfricaFoot. The 22-year-old Senegalese centre-back has left FC Metz for AS Monaco, for a fee estimated at €7 million and a contract reported to run until 2031.

For his representative, the player’s journey cannot be reduced to this change of shirt. “Sadibou spent three full seasons at FC Metz, but the situation was difficult in the final year, marked by the club’s relegation to the second division,” he told Maghreb-Foot.

The Metz season did indeed end with relegation to Ligue 2, a context hardly conducive to a centre-back showcasing his worth. Ba insists on this point: despite the relegation and two sending-offs, his client held his own.

Two reds, a convincing half-season

The agent makes no secret of the cards. “Although he was sent off twice last season, Sadibou produced an excellent half-season with Metz, which caught the attention of many European clubs,” he told Maghreb-Foot, again according to AfricaFoot. A way of presenting the bookings as one-off mishaps rather than a pattern.

Souleymane Ba’s message is therefore aimed at defending his player’s resilience, with the move to the Principality club, at this stage, a summer operation already completed. Neither the player nor AS Monaco commented in this interview, and the agent is the only voice quoted on the matter.

Sané must now prove himself on the pitch. His next milestone: the resumption of Ligue 1 and European fixtures with the AS Monaco squad.
