Ivory Coast: Emerse Faé calls for time to be given to African coaching staffs!

Former Elephants head coach Emerse Faé challenged African football’s leaders at the CAF strategic conference in Cape Verde. The plea comes after he was not retained at the helm of Ivory Coast.

Former Elephants head coach Emerse Faé spoke at the CAF strategic conference on the island of Sal, in Cape Verde, which brought together the continent’s head coaches. He challenged African football’s leaders over the precariousness facing technical staffs, according to Koaci.

“For progress and for African football to keep growing, African leaders have to give staffs time to work,” he said, according to the same source, relayed by Brut. He added: “You have high ambitions. The conditions made available to the staff have to match those ambitions.”

After his departure from the Elephants

According to Koaci, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) did not renew his tenure at the head of the national team after the 2026 World Cup, despite the country’s historic qualification for the knockout phase.

The FIF has yet to decide on the final structure of the national technical set-up.
