Striker Amidou Ba Niamadio broke the deadlock as early as the 2nd minute. He officially becomes the very first scorer of the 2026-2027 season and fires Génération Foot to first place in the table, thanks to a goal difference of +3, according to APS and Senego.
Niamadio kicks off the season
There was no long wait for the first net to ripple in this championship. As early as the 2nd minute, Amidou Ba Niamadio found the gap against AS Pikine, scoring the first goal of the 2026-2027 campaign, Seneweb reports.
That opening goal gets the competition under way, with 30 rounds on the calendar. With this 3-0 success, Génération Foot seize first place, a standing that will be worth watching as the rounds go by.
Fifteen goals across the seven fixtures
The other matches of round 1 also produced goals. In Ziguinchor, promoted Diambars claimed a 1-0 win over Essamaye FC at the Aline Sitoe Diatta stadium, Seneweb and APS report.
At the Djaguily Bagayokho stadium, US Gorée beat Linguère de Saint-Louis (2-0). Guédiawaye FC got the better of Dakar Sacré-Cœur (2-1) at the Amadou Barry stadium, according to APS. At the Yoff stadium, ASC Jaraaf and AJEL de Rufisque shared the spoils (1-1).
Casa Sports and ASC HLM drew (2-2), while Wallydaan and Stade de Mbour finished 0-0, according to Seneweb. In total, 15 goals were scored across the seven fixtures played, a rich attacking return for this opening round.
Teungueth FC awaited later
The clash between defending champions Teungueth FC and US Ouakam has been postponed because of the Rufisque side’s continental campaign, Seneweb specifies.
That postponed match is still to be scheduled, as are the rest of round 1 and round 2 of the Senegalese Ligue 1.
