Brentford: Arsenal and Liverpool chase Kevin Schade, Bees want more than £60m!

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly in the race to sign German-Nigerian winger Kevin Schade in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk and AfricaFoot. Brentford, his club, are demanding more than £60m and have opened talks over a contract extension.

The Kevin Schade saga could light up the winter transfer window. According to AfricaFoot and TEAMtalk, Arsenal and Liverpool are in the race to sign the Brentford forward during the January 2027 market. This is press information: no official offer is confirmed at this stage.

Arsenal and Liverpool, coached by Mikel Arteta and Andoni Iraola respectively, are no strangers to the situation. According to Flashscore, both clubs had already made an approach late in the summer window to strengthen their wide options. And the competition does not end there: Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham had also made enquiries without submitting a concrete offer, TEAMtalk reports.

A blistering start to the season

On the pitch, the 24-year-old winger’s record is fuelling the interest. He has 3 goals and 1 assist in six Premier League appearances, a blistering start to the season according to Football365 and RDC Sport. Sky Sports Germany and All Football highlight a career-record ratio of 3.07 shots per 90 minutes this season.

That output fits into a broader trend: the German-Nigerian international had racked up 24 direct goal contributions over his two previous Premier League seasons, according to Football365. Brentford, for their part, sit 4th in the league and remain unbeaten at the start of the season, according to Flashscore and RDC Sport.

A price and a contract locked down

The approaches run into the London club’s stance. TEAMtalk and Football365 indicate that Brentford are demanding more than £60 million, around €70 million, to part with their player. Schade’s current contract with the Bees runs until June 2028, Flashscore specifies.

Better still: the club do not want to sell in the immediate future and have opened talks to extend his contract, according to TEAMtalk. That is enough to complicate matters for the two suitors.

January 2027 in their sights

The next chapter will be written on the pitch first. Arsenal play matchday 7 of the Premier League this Sunday, 18 October, away at Nottingham Forest. Brentford, for their part, are expected to receive fresh offers when the transfer window opens in January 2027.
